Her modern romantic poetry has themes of nature, spirituality, beauty and presence with reflection on what is common to human experience. Her grandfather introduced her to Robert Frost’s poetry and the Romantics at a young age and she started writing poetry at the age of twelve after the passing of her mother. Favourite poets include Leonard Cohen, Maya Angelou and her Canadian contemporary Atticus. Her husband Michael Kivari is a professional recording artist and together they perform acoustic music and poetry at a variety of venues along the scenic northwestern shores of Lake Superior. |
